Reports To: Accounts & Project Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking a strategic and relationship-driven Account Manager to oversee and grow our existing client portfolio. This role is responsible for maintaining strong client relationships, identifying opportunities to improve IT maturity, driving upsell and cross-sell initiatives, ensuring client retention, managing contract renewals, and assisting clients with proactive IT budget forecasting.

The Account Manager will leverage tools such as Scalepad Lifecycle Manager to analyze asset lifecycles and build forward-looking technology roadmaps, and ConnectWise Sell (CPQ) to generate accurate quotes and proposals aligned with client IT strategy. This position plays a critical role in long-term client satisfaction, revenue growth, and strategic IT planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned client accounts
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with business owners, executives, and office managers
  • Conduct routine Account Review Meetings (Quarterly, Bi-Annual, or Annual based on client size and contract tier)
  • Present lifecycle reports and strategic recommendations during Account Reviews
  • Monitor client satisfaction and proactively address retention risks
  • Manage client onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Proactive ticket and project monitoring to ensure client satisfaction
  • IT Strategy, Asset Management & Maturity Planning
  • Utilize Scalepad Lifecycle Manager to analyze hardware lifecycle status and forecast replacement timelines
  • Identify aging or out-of-warranty assets and build multi-year IT budgeting plans
  • Develop and maintain client IT roadmaps aligned with business goals
  • Recommend cybersecurity, infrastructure, compliance, and cloud improvements
  • Coordinate with technical teams to validate scope and feasibility
  • Revenue Growth & Quoting
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts
  • Create detailed quotes and proposals using ConnectWise Sell (CPQ)
  • Ensure pricing accuracy and margin targets are met
  • Present ROI-driven recommendations to decision-makers
  • Track account growth pipeline and strategic initiatives
  • Contract Management & Renewals
  • Track managed service agreement and licensing renewals
  • Lead renewal discussions with strategic focus on service optimization
  • Adjust agreements based on asset growth and evolving needs
  • Coordinate renewals with Sales Administration and Billing teams
  • IT Budget Forecasting & Financial Planning
  • Build annual and multi-year IT budget forecasts using lifecycle reporting
  • Assist clients with hardware refresh cycles and security upgrade planning
  • Provide cost modeling and predictable IT spending guidance
  • Support capital expenditure and operational expense planning
  • Internal Coordination & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate account documentation in ConnectWise Manage and our Client Information Sheets
  • Ensure lifecycle data and renewal timelines are up to date
  • Collaborate with Service and Projects teams on strategic initiatives
  • Contribute to revenue forecasting and account reporting

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Account Management or Client Success (MSP preferred)
  • Experience using Scalepad Lifecycle Manager or similar lifecycle tools
  • Experience creating quotes in ConnectWise Sell (CPQ) or similar quoting platforms
  • Strong understanding of MSP recurring revenue models
  • Experience conducting executive-level Account Review meetings
  • Financial acumen with budgeting and ROI discussions
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • MSP experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (HIPAA, NIST, SOC2)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, and cloud services
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure lifecycle management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT Management, or related field

Pay: R54 200,00 – R108 400,00 per month
