Specialized staffing partner for K-12 schools and behavioral health organizations across multiple states.
Role Summary
The Recruitment Manager at Focused Staffing Group is a player-coach responsible for driving consistent candidate pipeline generation, recruiter performance, and placement outcomes across assigned verticals. This role sits between strategy and execution—owning daily recruiting output while building systems, habits, and accountability that scale.
This is not a passive management role. The Recruitment Manager is expected to lead from the front, actively recruit when needed, and ensure the team hits weekly starts and pipeline targets.
Core Responsibilities1. Recruiting Execution & Pipeline Ownership
- Ensure a consistent, high-quality pipeline of candidates across assigned roles (teachers, paraprofessionals, clinicians, substitutes, etc.)
- Personally support hard-to-fill roles, priority accounts, and escalated requisitions
- Maintain visibility into every open req, candidate stage, and risk area
- Ensure accurate and timely movement of candidates through the ATS / systems
2. Recruiter Management & Performance
- Directly manage a team of recruiters (and recruiting admin support, where applicable)
- Set and enforce daily, weekly, and monthly activity and outcome targets
- Monitor KPIs such as:
- Screens completed
- Submittals
- Interviews scheduled
- Starts per recruiter
- Time-to-fill
- Conduct regular 1:1s, pipeline reviews, and performance check-ins
- Coach recruiters on sourcing, screening, follow-up, urgency, and candidate control
3. Process, Structure & Accountability
- Enforce FSG recruiting processes, standards, and expectations
- Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies and recommend improvements
- Partner with leadership on workflow design, tooling, and automation
- Ensure recruiters are using systems correctly (ATS, dashboards, scorecards)
4. Client & Internal Collaboration
- Partner with Sales, Operations, and Credentialing/Compliance to ensure smooth handoffs
- Communicate proactively about pipeline risks, hiring delays, and market constraints
- Support client launches, surge hiring, and seasonal spikes (e.g., school year starts)
5. Quality, Compliance & Candidate Experience
- Ensure candidate quality aligns with client expectations and compliance requirements
- Reinforce proper screening, documentation awareness, and professionalism
- Balance speed with accuracy—no shortcuts that create downstream issues
Success Metrics (Non-Negotiables)
The Recruitment Manager is ultimately accountable for:
- Weekly starts (team and individual contribution as needed)
- Recruiter productivity and consistency
- Pipeline health across all active requisitions
- Reduced time-to-fill on priority roles
- Recruiter retention, engagement, and performance improvement
Required Experience & Skills
- 3–6+ years of staffing or recruiting experience (education, healthcare, or behavioral health strongly preferred)
- Prior experience managing recruiters or leading teams
- Strong understanding of high-volume and/or niche recruiting
- Data-driven mindset with comfort using dashboards, metrics, and scorecards
- High urgency, strong follow-through, and operational discipline
- Ability to coach, challenge, and hold people accountable without micromanaging
Ideal Traits for FSG
- Comfortable in a fast-moving, founder-led environment
- Takes ownership and does not wait to be told what to fix
- Clear communicator who surfaces problems early
- Willing to roll up sleeves when the business needs it
- Aligns with FSG’s standards around responsiveness, professionalism, and results
Reporting Structure
Reports directly to the Founder / Executive Leadership.
