We are looking for a lodge manager for our non-commercial lodge that is situated in the Karongwe Private Game Reserve inbetween Hoesdspruit and Tzaneen. The lodge is used to host the owners invited guests and family. The candidate will have their oen fully furnished accomadation.

Formal hospitality degree/diploma preferable

4 – 5 years’ experience in a functional Management position in a 4-5 star Lodge

Functional experience of all Lodge departments.

Grade 12 and be computer literate

Valid Driver’s license with PDP Essential

Exceptional skills in staff and high profile guest relations

Ability to multitask, adapt to changing business needs, and think critically

Strong organizational and time management skills

High attention to detail

Sound employment history with contactable references.

Strong hands-on leader – who leads by example

 Qualified chef or cooking skills

JOB DESCRIPTION

Be responsible for the management of the lodge precinct in such a manner that guest satisfaction is achieved and maintained.

Determine nutritional requirements of guests, action menu-planning and perform stocktake and relevant shopping/procurement

Physically prepare, cook and present all meals to guests

Effective leadership, manage and oversee all departments within the lodge

Plan and manage the day-to-day operations effectively

Drive the broader goals of the lodge in relation to all areas mentioned above

To ensure consistent satisfaction of guests

Ensure the required policies, procedures and administrative systems and controls are in place and understood

Day to day guest interaction to receive feedback and actively implement necessary action

Physically action stock takes

Adherence to all company practices

Manage human resource aspects for the team including leave and days off planning and administration

Leading, training and motivating the team

Drive the Lodge’s quality plan and implement all required standards

Implement annual maintenance plan and deal with contractors and day to day lodge maintenance
