Linux Engineer

Contract Length: 6-Months

Location: Fully Remote (South African Applicants Only)

Hourly/Day Rate: TBC

Are you a Linux expert looking for an impactful contract opportunity?

You’ll be joining a global environment with 25,000+ virtual machines and hundreds of Red Hat Linux servers, helping the client get their Linux estate back on track. This is not BAU support — it’s high-impact project work in collaboration with Patching and InfoSec teams. You’ll focus on OS upgrades, patching tools, antivirus rollout, and building clear runbooks and processes to help upskill internal teams.

You will need to work Out of Hours times so please bear that in mind before applying.

Experience Needed:

• 5+ years Linux engineering experience
• Strong Red Hat (RHEL) administration background
• Experience working with large-scale virtualised Linux environments
• Proficient in patching, upgrades, and antivirus implementation
• Confident writing runbooks and training less experienced teams
• Comfortable working closely with Patching and InfoSec teams
• VMware experience a plus
