About The Role

Strove is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer. You’ll play a key role in building and maintaining the core systems that power our platform, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability as we grow. Your work will directly contribute to improving the health and wellbeing of our users.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver robust and reliable user experiences.
• Ensure high availability and performance of critical backend systems.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following modern development practices.
• Lead efforts in architecture decisions and backend design reviews.
• Monitor and optimize system performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues quickly and effectively.
• Mentor junior backend engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience developing and maintaining backend systems.
• Proficiency in building and maintaining APIs and distributed systems using modern backend technologies
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Experience with authentication, security best practices, and performance optimization.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
